# Wake-Up Radio Systems for Cooperative-Intelligent Transport Systems Architecture ## Summary Wake-up Radio (WuR) is another candidate to reduce power consumption in V2X communications. This technique is popular in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), where battery powered sensors are able to detect wake radio signals before engaging in primary radio communications. A WuR system based on IEEE802.11 provides a coverage of 40m. Manufacturers developing modules may incorporate this technology into the existing IEEE802.11 hardware however it is unclear whether this has been widely standardised in commercial units. ## Notes ## References 1.
