# A Comparison of the V2X Communication Systems ITS-G5 and C-V2X ## 1-2 Sentence Summary Two standards for V2V ITS-G5 (IEEE 802.11p) and C-V2X (3GPP release 14) are compared using simulations and assuming perfect channel estimation. Performance shows an advantage for C-V2X for low levels of vehicle density but as congestion increases ITS-G5 outperforms C-V2X. ## Other Notes ![](../../Spaces/University/Thesis/Projects/ELEC4951%20-%20Thesis%20A/notes/attachments/A%20Comparison%20of%20the%20V2X%20Communication%20Systems%20ITS-G5%20and%20C-V2X-attachment.png) Transmit power for both is 200mW. Channel models used are: Line of Sight Winner B1 path loss model [11], while the fast fading is based on the Extended Vehicular Model EVA as defined in [12] ## References 1.
