# intermodulation (IM)

Interfering signals mixing in a non-linear system will produce non-harmonic components, called Intermodulation (IM) products
$2\omega_1 \pm \omega_2$ and $2\omega_2\pm\omega_1$ are of interest as they can fall within the channel of $\omega_1$ and $\omega_2$
When the [jamming signals](jamming%20signals.md) aren't equal, the IM products aren't equal also.
This means changes in the amplitude of each jamming signal is not evenly split between the IM products:
