# power delay profile The channel responses are a set of powers for each delay path. The magnitude represents the path gain. ![](attachments/Multipath%20Fading-attachment-1.png#invert) Different paths have different gains. Impulse responses describe the behaviour of the channel. It's weird that the stronger path comes later! This could be because the reflections add up. ## What does this mean? When you convolve the signal with the power delay profile impulses, you get the same signal scaled by these factors: ![](attachments/power%20delay%20profile-attachment.png#invert) The symbol width may lead to interference if the [multipath](Multipath%20Fading.md) are close together in time. ![](attachments/power%20delay%20profile-attachment-1.png#invert) ## Uses Used in the calculation of [Mean excess delay](Mean%20excess%20delay.md). # References 1.
